“Maratona” is a masterful red blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, and Petit Verdot, reflecting the Italian sentiment behind its name: that life is a marathon, not a sprint. Sourced exclusively from two of the Hoxsey family’s organically farmed estate vineyards in Yountville: Ghost Block and Block House. Rooted in over 120 harvests of family tradition since 1903, this sixth-generation estate celebrates both heritage and meticulous farming, with each bottle a reflection of the patience and work ethic passed on by multiple generations. Meant to be savored, shared, and remembered, ‘Maratona’ reminds us that the journey is as, if not more important, than the destination.

Priyanka French
Winemaker, Ghost Block Estate Wines
Priyanka French grew up in Mumbai and acquired her Bachelor of Technology in Food Science and Technology from the University of Mumbai and went on to work for several companies, including Nestle. But a field trip during her senior year to India’s wine country nagged at her for years until finally, she moved to California to pursue a Master of Science in Viticulture and Enology from University of California, Davis and was the first Indian national to do so at the prestigious university.
She cut her teeth in wine regions all over the world, from the iconic Louis M. Martini Winery in Napa Valley to Hospices de Beaune in Burgundy, Cognac, and New Zealand before returning to California where she worked at Stags’ Leap Winery and then the preeminent Dalle Valle. There, French spent five years working in both the cellar and vineyard, learning first-hand from the incredible team under Naoko Dalla Valle.
Her experience in estate winemaking and crafting luxury Cabernet Sauvignon led her to Signorello Estate, where she joined as winemaker in 2019 and led the rebuilding efforts of the property post the 2017 fires. She oversaw the design and construction for the $30 million build including winery, caves and administration offices. As winemaker, she also led the vineyard team, farming the estate vineyards with organic, sustainable efforts in coordination with Steve Matthiason. Alongside Celia Welch, she also crafted the estate and portfolio wines that were recognized with critical acclaim.
In 2025, French joined the team at Napa Wine Co. She is currently the GM for the custom crush facility, overseeing operations, strategic improvements and business ventures. In addition, she serves as the winemaker for Ghost Block wines, crafting single vineyard Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon from the family’s historic vineyards.
