Description
From the eastern edge of Stony Hill Vineyard, nestled in the wilderness of Spring Mountain, comes a rare, hand-harvested Cabernet-driven blend: 76.5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Cabernet Franc, and 1.5% Petit Verdot. Crafted under the expertise of Reid Griggs—alum of Harlan Estate, Dalla Valle, and Ridge—this wine is made in a classical, terroir-driven style with indigenous yeast, CCOF-certified organic farming, and biodynamic principles. Aged 22 months in 25% new French and Austrian oak, it reflects the rocky soils, manzanita forests, and chaparral of its unique site. Harmonious and graceful, it is a pure expression of Spring Mountain Cabernet at its absolute peak.

Reid Griggs
Winemaker, Stony Hill Vineyard
Reid Griggs is a passionate first-generation winemaker who found his calling to wine through a fascination with the natural world. During his first vintage at Bedrock Wine Company, his work in the cellar along with visits to some of the oldest vineyards in the region solidified his inspiration to pursue a career in winemaking.
From working on the steep slopes of Saint Joseph in the Northern Rhone to helping farm some of the oldest Cabernet vines in the Napa Valley, Reid continued to form his winemaking philosophies and vision for articulating place through wine. He holds a Masters in Viticulture and Enology from UC Davis where he studied microbial community dynamics in winegrowing.
Reid is focused on crafting wines that reflect the distinct ecology of each place and sees winemaking as the discipline of honoring the history and character of the land, and the people who steward it.
