Cultivated at 1,800 feet on Mount Veeder’s rugged, marine-influenced slopes, this limited Cabernet Sauvignon is the pinnacle expression of Darioush’s Sage Vineyard estate. Perched above the fog line, the vineyard’s rocky soils yield small, concentrated berries that capture the hallmarks of Mount Veeder’s rugged terroir. The 2024 vintage showcases Sage Vineyard’s ability to produce fruit of remarkable balance and vibrancy, rooted in profound precision and structured purity. Michel Rolland
Winemaker, Darioush
Michel began his work as an oenologist in 1973, a time when modern wine was in its infancy. In 1985 he was offered the opportunity to study the ways to maximize the potential of California’s wines, and his life as a global winemaking consultant began. He has since worked on four continents, more than a dozen countries, and over 150 different properties. Michel continues to advise clients around the world, in addition to serving as the winemaker for properties in Argentina and Bordeaux. Known for his rigorous technical approach and emphasis on balance, precision, and vineyard expression, Rolland has played a pivotal role in shaping contemporary winemaking practices. His influence extends beyond individual estates, helping elevate entire regions and generations of winemakers through innovation, mentorship, and an unwavering pursuit of quality.
