Description

From the storied slopes of Spring Mountain comes a once-in-a-lifetime release: the final vintage from La Perla Block 101, a vineyard parcel continuously planted for more than 150 years and long considered to be the crown jewel of the estate. For the first time in four decades, La Perla will undergo a complete replant—making 2024 the true end of an era. Crafted exclusively from old-vine 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and aged 22 months in 100% Taransaud French oak, this singular wine offers the purest expression of Spring Mountain’s character. A historic, unrepeatable bottling—its legacy forever sealed in this final, extraordinary vintage.

Barrett Anderson is a homegrown talent, having been born and raised in nearby Geyserville. After obtaining an undergraduate degree in biology from the University of California, Santa Barbara, Barrett went seeking winery experience in Sonoma, Napa, and eventually Australia. After a few harvests down-under, Barrett decided to pursue a graduate degree in Oenology and Viticulture from the University of Adelaide, Waite in South Australia, which he achieved in 2004.

After graduation, Barrett returned stateside where he began working with Jackson Family Wines, with stints at Cardinale and Lokoya, which sits just up the mountain from the Spring Mountain Vineyard estate.

In 2019 Barrett Anderson was announced as Spring Mountain Vineyard's next Winemaker and the next in line to steward this storied estate.
